Right, this might well be the last update for a few months since school starts next week and I am expecting a LOT of work there! We'll see, though.
Anywho, May saw a lot of celebrities leave us, so I thought perhaps it'd be a good exercise to paint faces that people would actually recognize. Naturally, this made it take way longer for me, but I'm still fairly sure the images qualify as value studies/speedpaints!So, first off;
Ronnie James Dio (1942-07-10 - 2010-05-16). Took a good 180 minutes! Don't know what went wrong, really. Painted on May 31st.
Gary Coleman (1968-02-08 - 2010-05-28). Painted in 120 minutes on June 1st.
Dennis Hopper (1936-05-17 - 2010-05-29). Painted in 120 minutes on June 2nd.
And the king of cool CLINT EASTWOOD! 80 years old and still awesome to the MAX. (110 minutes, June 3rd)
Yeah he's so cool I painted him twice. Big woop, wanna fight about it? (120 minutes, June 4th)
All the best,
Great job!! I like the mix of looseness and detail. It works especially well because you nail their expressions/eyes, so the soul of the personality is there. Once you've got that, you're made! Really nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteThat's AWESOME to hear, Lindsay! Exactly what I was going for. Dennis Hopper especially looked extremely weird for the longest time since I've never attempted a smiling/laughing person before.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
That just gave me an artistic erection.
ReplyDeleteits fucking incredible how good you are, completly out of the blue! respect!
Hahah a boner with a beret on it. I like it!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you! Derp.
